I’m a big fan of Autumn and Halloween. It’s a season of texture and colour and I wanted to capture all of that in this layout. I used our “Fall Pumpkin” pre-cut file to show off the lovely display of pumpkins in my photo.

We were visiting Beaulieu for some spooky stories and Halloween activities and decorations so I took a fair few photos. Some of them I have scrapped with Halloween themed stash but here I wanted to concentrate on the autumnal vibe for this photo from the Victorian kitchens there.

One of my lovely customers got in touch to ask about this Silhouette cut file that she had seen on a layout by Zsoka Marko on the Fancy Pants blog. I immediately bought the commercial licence and cut it for myself too, purely in the name of a test cut, obviously….

I had created a little autumn themed kit for one of our barn retreats that included a few sheets of brand new (at the time) Echo Park Celebrate Autumn. To pad this out I matched in the yellows and oranges with some older Echo Park Reflections Fall, and some really old Halloween stash. I backed my cut file and it sat in my half-finished-pile for a few months.

A few months later one of my design team reminded me of it and “encouraged me” to complete the layout (they basically told me off…!) The burlap paper was the perfect backdrop because it gives a really subtle but interesting textural feel and goes so well with the theme. I added some bit and pieces from the stunning Simple Stories Vintage Halloween collection and a few enamel dots from the shop to pick out the turquoise to finish off.

Now I really want to go to a pumpkin patch and take more harvest photos!

Hi, Terri here again. I’m back with another travel inspired layout using the Paige Evans Horizon Collection. I cut out the Heart in Circles cut file from black cardstock (pre-cut available here). I then backed the hearts with pieces of different patterned paper.

I’ve used ALL the suitcases I could find in the collection (fussy cut, stickers and ephemera) to decorate and create a horizontal spread across the page. The title Dream Big encompasses my wish to do more travel, especially in India.

I’ve used a single 3×4 inch photo this time of me at sunset in Shimla. There were beautiful views across the valley.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today, we love to see your creations so don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram.
Happy Scrapping!

Good morning crafters! We have the lovely Emma from Project Sparkle as another guest designer and I just love what she has created for us! Here’s what she had to say.

Hello, welcome to the Pretty my Page blog, Emma here from Project Sparkle. I am lucky enough to be a guest designer today and am here to share with you this spooky cute treat bag using the Big Witch Legs cut file
As soon as I saw this design I knew I just had to incorporate it into my Halloween crafting this year! I had many ideas for it but settled on this little treat bag.

I used an SVG I already owned for the net of the bag and incorporated the Witches Legs file into the front side so that it all cut as one piece on my cricut.

Next it was time to make it colourful! I am currently working on using up my scrap paper box, does anyone else keep every little scrap and the pile never seems to get any smaller!? I hope it’s not just me! Anyway I backed the legs with a green and white paper scrap, to look like tights and selected a plain purple piece which I turned into a shaker, using sequins and a clear page protector, before attaching it behind the design.

I then went on to find a little Halloween word sticker (from Mrs Brimbles) which matched perfectly! I backed this several times on different scrap pieces of paper, adding a layer of foam tape between each one. The final 2 layers have fishtail banner edges and just before I popped it onto the bag I added a swirl of white thread, to look like the spiders had been up to mischief creating a web. My final touch for the front of the bag was to add the spiders, these are doodlebug stickers popped up on some dimensional tape, with thread behind to look like spiders web dangling from the banner piece.

Lastly I stitched together, on my sewing machine, a strip of black crepe paper and purple glittery tulle to make the ruffled trim you see at the top of the bag. I simply hot glued this around the inside rim of the bag net, while still flat and then used hot glue to stick the net together to make the bag, and VOILA! A fun spooky cute bag to fill with treats ready for my penpal to enjoy. You could also make these as Halloween party bags, or even to give out to trick or treaters, the possibilities are endless!

If you decide to give this project a go, make sure to tag me and Pretty My Page, we cant wait to see what you create!

You can see the whole thing come together in my process video here.

Hello, Laura here again.

I’ve had a recent reshuffle of my craft room.  I’m nearly all set up again now minus my lights and camera.  I really needed to create though so instead of researching new smaller lights or setting up my huge soft boxes I grabbed a pre-cut cut file and set to play (I really can’t call this work, can I?!)

The cut file is the Paige Evans Flower Background 2.  You can order it in white, cream or black as a pre-cut or as a stitching template.  I don’t have the patience for stitching though!

I have a tendency to keep everything as “I might use it one day”.  When I cleared off my desk I realised just how much I had kept and not used – loads of dishes and tiny pots full of little iddy bits.  We covered them with cling film in case the pots tipped over and I vowed to use them up ASAP.

I grabbed a couple of cling film covered pots and started working on a design.  One pot had stripy lime leaves left over from a previous layout – I have no idea which one!  The other had die cut vellum “hello’s” from a layout from a couple of years ago!  I do know that both of them were cut on Pretty Little Studio paper/vellum.

I mixed up some green mist to match the paper leaves and added some large splatters to my white 12×12.  Before they had dried I added a few smaller gold splatters letting the two inks run together in places creating a third colour.  When that had dried I adhered the vellum letters with some micro glue dots.  This seems to be the best way to adhere vellum on a light background without the adhesive showing.  I saved one set of letters to add to my photo to serve as the title.

When using a white cut file on a largely white background I like to use foam pads to add dimension.  This lets the cut file cast a shadow on the background which adds another element to the layout.  Rather than going for the conventional square placement I moved the cut file over and rotated it for an interesting corner design.  I added a few layers to my photo and positioned it towards the top corner.  I took the stripy leaves and adhered some under the cut file, some over the top and some poking through the cut file.

To finish I added some enamel dots and the vellum ‘hello’ I saved earlier.  The micro glue dots aren’t quite as invisible when used on the darker background of the photo.  I think it looks okay though and I’m not sure any of my other glues would have done a better job.

That’s all for now folks, see you next time!

Sarah here with you today and I’m sharing a layout I created for you using the Fantastic cut file by Paige Evans!

I couldn’t wait to use it with the photo I took of my son at his end of season football presentation. He won Manager’s Player of the Year and was handed the Captain’s armband for this season! Super proud!

I had the cut file in black cardstock and backed with the lovely bright coloured papers from Photoplay Boys Rule collection. Once I had backed all the letters, I raised it up on 3D foam pads and added it to the plain white cardstock.

I layered the photo on to two scraps of the same patterned paper and added to the side of the page.
I them embellished the page with some of the cardstock stickers that came with the paper collection and a few enamel dots.

Hope you like it.

Here we have Nicky Richards back with another guest post for us.

Hi, it’s Nicky here and I’ve had the pleasure of using the Poinsettia Wreath cutfile (pre-cut available here). Poinsettias are one of my favourite flowers.

For this page, I bashed some 6 x 6 pieces of patterned paper to back the cutfile, all the poinsettias use a different piece. 6×6 pads are perfect for backing cut files because the patterns are smaller and denser and it’s easier than cutting into a whole sheet of 12×12.

With a cutfile as pretty as this, there’s no need to add lots of embellishments so I just used some gold leaves in the wreath. I then added some hearts and stars. I used some gold spray and some Nuvo drops to finish the page off.

If you’re looking to make some headway with previous Christmas scrapping before it starts again this year, treat yourself to this lovely cutfile, and don’t forget to tag us so we can see your lovely work too.

Hi Terri here with a blog post showcasing the fabulous camera mesh cut file available as both digital and pre cut forms in the shop. As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for.

I cut the file from a piece of patterned paper from the Paige Evans Horizon collection. I think the diagonal stripes remind me of a camera flash. I added Shimmerz spun sugar paste through a stencil to add the texture in the centre of the cameras. With such a bold background there doesn’t need to be much embellishment added on top.

This page documents the Indian’s love of selfies and photos with the ‘white tourists’. We were like celebrities whilst at the massacre memorial in Amritsar. It was a little off putting to have a queue of people waiting to have photos with you.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today, we love to see your creations so don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram.
Happy Scrapping!

We recently put out a call for some guest designers to add some wonderful projects to our gallery of ideas. We were bowled over with the response and have some lovely ladies lined up over the next few months to share their creativity here on our blog and of course on our Instagram and Facebook pages. First up with have Nicky Richards joining us.

Hi, it’s Nicky here and I’ve had the pleasure of using the Globe cut file. I wanted to add mixed media to the cut file so I added clear gesso to it before I removed it from my silhouette cutting mat. Tip, make sure it is totally dry before taking it off the mat, don’t be impatient like me!
I wanted the globe to be the main part of the page so I created the offset of the globe and cut it in black.

I used Heidi Swapp colour shine in Patina to my wet globe and then set aside to dry.  The paper I used is Sunny Days by Maggie Holmes for Crate paper – I loved the sayings and little postcards. This paper needed a prominent foreground though or it could overpower the photos and this globe was perfect.

I backed the black offset inside the globe with paper from Pink fresh studio.
My photos are printed very small and I added a minimal amount of embellishments. I finished my video recording of my page making process (which you can see here) and then decided to use Nuvo drops to add the details to the stand of the globe.

I loved using the Globe cut file and I really hope you do too! I’m looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations with it and don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram!

Happy globe trotting, Nicky xx
