Nicky Richards – Let’s Go

We recently put out a call for some guest designers to add some wonderful projects to our gallery of ideas. We were bowled over with the response and have some lovely ladies lined up over the next few months to share their creativity here on our blog and of course on our Instagram and Facebook pages. First up with have Nicky Richards joining us.

Hi, it’s Nicky here and I’ve had the pleasure of using the Globe cut file. I wanted to add mixed media to the cut file so I added clear gesso to it before I removed it from my silhouette cutting mat. Tip, make sure it is totally dry before taking it off the mat, don’t be impatient like me!
I wanted the globe to be the main part of the page so I created the offset of the globe and cut it in black.

I used Heidi Swapp colour shine in Patina to my wet globe and then set aside to dry.  The paper I used is Sunny Days by Maggie Holmes for Crate paper – I loved the sayings and little postcards. This paper needed a prominent foreground though or it could overpower the photos and this globe was perfect.

I backed the black offset inside the globe with paper from Pink fresh studio.
My photos are printed very small and I added a minimal amount of embellishments. I finished my video recording of my page making process (which you can see here) and then decided to use Nuvo drops to add the details to the stand of the globe.

I loved using the Globe cut file and I really hope you do too! I’m looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations with it and don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Instagram!

Happy globe trotting, Nicky xx
