Yum! – Scrapbook Page

Hi hi!

This is the 2nd of the charity ball layouts I mentioned the other day, and this one is obviously the one about the food. Food is a big thing in our house – we have 2 budding chefs, a kitchen garden, and I have had a few foodie articles published in my time too! We love food. There I said it. Because we eat so well at home, going out can be a bit of a disappointment sometimes but the meal that we had at this gala event was really special. If only we could have seen it better in the dim light!

I used a scrap lift from Scrap Squad for this layout and again I kept to the Christmas papers I had been using from Crate Paper’s Snowflake collection. I do love Crate Paper but I find that I usually have to buy multiples of the plainer smaller patterns to balance out the bolder and more themed pieces. I’m definitely a B side girl!

Thankfully this collection does have white white in it so it is easy to use white cardstock and doilies. I find doilies really useful for adding a neutral layer that’s not too in your face.

I did use a few scraps on this layout, which always feels good. I tend to keep even very tiny bits with a collection, especially a Christmas one, because even small pieces are perfect for cut files. The problem is, you do end up saving ridiculously small bits of paper!

One of my favourite things on this layout is the bauble paper clip – its from a previous Crate Christmas collection I think but as with most manufacturers, they tend to stick to similar colour tones so it’s easy to mix and match their collections. It also means that even when there’s not much left of a collection, you can always add your ridiculously small scraps to another bag of stash…

Stay safe and keep smiling x
