You Say I’m A Witch

I make no secret of the fact that I love anything witchy and Halloween related (but I am definitely not Wiccan, just FYI). So when given the brief by UK Scrap Addicts to use black cardstock, my mind immediately turned to a quote I had seen a few times around Pinterest and I turned it into our “You Say I’m A Witch” cut file.

Because my photo was facing to the left, I wanted the writing over to the right so that I was facing into the page so I just moved everything over. Then I trimmed a bit off all four sides so that I had room for a border – using a black background doesn’t mean I can’t add some colour and pattern in somewhere right?

I layered up the photo using the gorgeous Simple Stories Vintage Halloween collection and then tried to squeeze in as much embellishment as I had room for!

I absolutely adored the little witch die cuts in the ephemera pack so I had to use one of those to go along with the theme. And of course I had to use some enamel dots to finish off with too. I actually had to redo this layout after a huge glue spillage (you might have seen my post on Instagram) so I’ve learned that even dry clear glue will show up on black cardstock. And it’s also really hard to photograph because it shows up any area that’s not totally flat! I liked using it though and I will try and change things up again and use black as a main colour again… just not too soon…

With love and colour x
