WOYWW 625

Hi hi!

Firstly, I’m trying something new here – doing this on my iPad to see if I can, for anytime I’m not home. Fingers crossed…

Secondly – I’m so incredibly sorry to all the recipients that are still waiting for their ATCs. They are ready to go today and I can only apologise. I never expected to be poorly for so long. The jury is still out on what is going on as it involves some ‘downstairs’ issues as well as the dizziness but the two things might just be a bizarre coincidence. I’m prone to outer ear infections and I have had labyrinthitis before (separate issues) but this felt different. I’m not so dizzy but boy do I feel weak and feeble!! *applies back of hand to forehead in a ‘woe is me’ fashion…

Anyway… to the desk dear friends!

The ATCs were all that was on my desk today and I was rushing to get them ready to post wondering if I was going to have to photograph an empty desk. Then the DPD man came at 4pm with my parcel of oxides that I ordered from my old supplier. What’s that you say? There’s more than a couple of Oxides there, isn’t there? Well yes… but in my defence, the post is £6 if you don’t qualify for free post and so I ordered something for a friend and then a new embossing pad, and then the Dina Wakley book to try and give me a leg up on the art therapy route, and I was over halfway to the free post. You know how it is. I’m among friends here, right?

I did have to scrub my table top clean after the whole ATC debacle. I have ADHD and I do want to do a separate post about how that affects me and in particular my creative process but suffice to say that I went about the ATCs in totally the wrong way – with no plan at all except for eleventy-billion ideas. I ended up using Dylusions sprays and as always for me, they went everywhere, they are SO highly pigmented that even a tiny bit of over spray will take a lot of wiping up. 2 days since I did the spray layer and I am still getting colour on my hands from somewhere. I’m unhappy with the finished items but I learned a lot and I hope the recipients appreciate the thought, if not the art! Talking of which, here are a few wonderful pieces of art that I received.

Neet was my PiF, and I loved the little faces poking through the apertures!!

Jan’s has headed for Scotland on it’s way to me and as Caro’s was the first that I received, it got put on the wall and I forgot to take a pic!

I love how different they all are!

Stunning works of art and I’m sure I’ll have more to show next week. Hopefully mine will have reached at least all the UK folks! I was so out of it last week that I rally hope I’ve managed to get the right addresses for the right people I haven’t left anyone out!

For now though, I’m off to the post office and then I’ll be heading over to Julia’s to start my Wednesday visits. Put the kettle on won’t you?

Stay safe and keep smiling x

I misunderstood. I thought the one you got from Jo was the one you made. My apologies. I didn’t realize until I saw similar ones of hers on other blogs.

That’s the thing about WOYWW – we seem to be a very understanding and supportive lot, and patient with our desk-hopping mates when it is needed. Rest up, get well, and you will soon be back to fighting fit, I’m sure. I love the weeks of ATC shares – fab to get to see the stunning work even it I didn’t manage to make enough to share with EVERYONE. Maybe one year…

    Happy WOYWW

I’m really sorry you’ve been feeling so pants, I do understand totally how debilitating the dizziness is and how rubbish it makes you feel. I hope that rest helps resolve the situation, be it on a chaise longue or day bed! Is that my ATC that’s winging its way to Scotland? Did I do something stupid like getting the address wrong? So sorry if that’s the case…. I’ll double check the address you sent.
And you have to justify nothing – I suspect we’ve all added to an order to get the free postage, lol. You’re amongst friends who don’t judge….. 😉
    Hugs LLJ 10 xxx

Happy WOYWW. A very happy post day. I am waiting for a book I ordered about digital scrapbooking, so anxiously looking out for the postman each day (we don’t get post delivered every day now). Sorry to hear you are still not feeling 100%. My left foot/ankle pain continues to be troublesome (I have to walk slowly, and when it flares up I cannot walk very far at all). Must phone the doctor again and see if I can get referred to the hospital (appointment was cancelled just as the first lockdown started). Fantastic collection of ATCs. Ali x #28

Dizziness is awful – it would stop me doing anything! Don’t worry about being “late” with your ATCs – at least they’re spaced out a bit. I was a bit overwhelmed receiving half a dozen on one day – the postman must have thought it was birthday – he also keeps calling me Karolyn LOL – but I just go with it! Lovely goodies! I have that book too and I know what you mean about dylusions – I used to have pink hands for days! Hope you feel better soon! xx zsuzsa #26

I lost the Internet as I posted my comment:(
It was very witty and I probably can’t remember it ?
Fabulous ATC’s you have received. I am sorry you are still feeling poorly. I do know what it is like to feel weak and feeble, and I don’t like it either – she says holding the back of her hand against her brow! Oh , you forgot to send me your address.

I really hope they get to the bottom of the dizziness for you – it is a truly horrid thing to cope with. Love your goodies in the first picture – lots of lovely things to play with there, and you have received some gorgeous ATCs. Happy WOYWW. Ah, the old free P&P limits, what’s a girl to do! What a lovely haul. I don’t and won’t be doing journal stuff any time, but even I like the look of that book! a don’t worry about commenting or posting ATCs or anything whilst you’re feeling horrid, it’s not meant to be a pressure or a stress. I should know, am still addressing envelopes here.! Hope you start to feel better really soon now.

  18. Heather Marshall on 27 May 2021 at 6:37 pm

I hope they manage to work out what is causing the dizziness and everything and get you sorted. Nothing worse than being ill, and not knowing what is causing it. Eleventy billion ideas – yep, that’s how many ideas I have when I’m making ATCs lol. Fully agree with having to avoid paying P&P – and I always need all the extra things I add to my basket, hehe. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #17

The atc’s are great, I do reconise a few or simular. I have forgotten, as I often do forget what I have forgotten, if we’d decided to swap too?!? Let me know, or don’t, then I’ll know we didn’t. Hope you are feeling a lot better, don’t do too much rushing about! just craft, it’s good for the brian….I mean brain! (Hence the bad spelling, and I don’t have a spell check!) Happy very late WOYWW?! from Me! Stay Safe, ((Lyn))#9
