WOYWW 615

Hi hi!

Good morning good yawning. Is it Friday yet? This week seems very long indeed. But if it was Friday I would have missed What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday and that’s no good. If you want to join the crafty blog hop, please head over and see Julia.

This is my desk as of Tuesday afternoon / evening. I’m having to close my blind earlier and earlier in the day as the sun streams in which is a lovely sign indeed although it does rather spoil my view!

We have, for your delectation, a pile of NHS paperwork for my dad (old people are very time consuming…) and a faceless Charlie Brown cut file ready to begin back filling. I found the red woodgrain in my stash that I thought would be perfect for Snoopy’s house. I’m going to create a list of all the Christmas films I watched last year – I think it was 47 – for my next article with The Artistry, about scrapbooking with no photos. It was my idea and one I didn’t think through before offering it up. Now my left eye is twitching and my hand keeps hovering over my pile of pictures…

My article this week was about using mixed media. I started with a floral paper to match the colours with and ended up with this grungy masculine layout instead!

I shared my belly cast last week for the ‘off the page’ article I did and this little bird house was part of that too. I’ve never paper engineered anything before and even though I like this little fellow (the birdy, not my husband) (well I mean do rather like him too of course) but I think I’ll stick to on-the-page projects in future. I should have 6 articles published in the end here.

Last week’s Throwback Thursday – probably the first time I used a cut file I think. It’s very clean and simple for me! If it were now I would move the photo and title down to meet the stars but other than that, it’s different but I like it.

Hopefully there’s something among this lot to tickle your fancy.

I’ve shown you mine now you show me yours 😉

Stay safe and keep smiling x

A layout without photos – now that will be a challenge! I love the layouts you have on display this week. So good! Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#11)

Morning Lisa Jane. Great page – well done. Ones without photos… hmm… might pose me even more of a problem than pages WITH photos. Can you guess I don’t do much in the way of scrap booking?!
    Take care. God bless.

You do make me laugh with the way you tell a good story – I’m glad you like your hubby as well as the bird, lol! I’m with you on all paperwork for the elderly, good grief it’s enough to drive you to drink…. And that red wood paper is a genius find, perfect for Snoopy’s kennel roof!

Lovely projects this week – the LOs are fab. I am still chuckling at the thought of me taking orders to sell twiddlers. I am sure they would sell well but would probably take a lot of the fun out of it for me. It’s nice that folks love them though. Lovely response from the Wolf man – thanks for donating. Shaz will be smiling. xx Jo

Loving the bird house project – I have a wooden bird house as well – had it for years – but it’s still waiting for a creative spark. Love the layouts too – that grid really works with the mixed media one. What is this “publication” you’re writing for? Would like to find out more about it! Have a lovely week! xx zsuzsa #21

It sounds like I’m not the only one smiling at your comment about liking your hubby too ? I love your show and tell this week.

Oh my! Paperwork for your dad! I feel awful in a way to agree but you are right they do take up your time. I am very lucky to still have a mum as she is 92 but her ability to do things though not great, means she gets up to stuff and then falls. She has just come back home from a nursing home. The care team thought she would stay in her chair during the day until they visit!!!!! they must be mad Lol! As soon as she feels a bit better she will be pushing her walker round the sitting room with a duster in her hand Lol! even though I do all the housework for her. Still….we manage some crafty stuff too and the journal page is brilliant and loving your bird box too. Have a happy woyww, Angela x18x

Hi Lisa-Jane, I love Charlie Brown. My late sister-in-law married Charlie Brown – I thought being Mrs Charlie Brown was so cool. Love your pages and the birdhouse is so cute. Looking back at earlier scrap pages can be quite a revelation. There’s not many of us wouldn’t do things differently today … scrapbooking techniques have changed a lot since I started 25 years ago! Have a great week. Elizabeth x #22

ah! Here you are, I clicked somewhere else and you had moved! I’ve got links on the woyww about two weeks back for the making of the mini books… I’ve not really finished any of them as I keep finding bits of paper that, ‘ooho that’ll look good in there!’ but I will! I have two 12×12 waiting and a 6×6 and an 8×8… still in my head, along with one, using the BIGGest bit of card I have and making a bigger album using the some folding and cutting way as the little ones. I like your male grungy page! Don’t think I’d manage to do anything without pictures! love the bird house, that would be fun to make…I’ll add it to my list! Happy WOYWW sorry, running late again! Stay safe! Thank you for your visit!

HI Lisa-Jane, just had to have a snout around the Artistry as hadn’t heard of it before – now bookmarked for later! Very interested in your article about pocket pages as it’s something I really want to get into (I have a mountain of picutres going back to the 70s to get through). Also LOVED the Belly Cast, I have NEVER seen that done before, but it’s quirky and beautiful. The bird house is really cool too, great idea. Have a good week. Annie C #25

Super grungy boy page, love it. Thanks for the Southampton offer and yes it was last year. He’s been home a year now, finished his degree at home, all a bit of a damp squid really. Oh well.
Thanks for the thought and the visit to my blog BJ#9

Great layouts, Lisa-Jane, and I particularly like the colours in the first one. Sorry you are being bogged down with paperwork… It’s like taxes and dust in the house, isn’t it – never goes away!

Thank you for your visit – so glad you like the development of the embellishments on my blanket – it seemed the easiest way to plan the layout. Thank you for visiting my teabag Youtube vids too – I’m amazed it was the first to come up! I don’t do videos very often because they are terribly time-consuming to edit. Most of the videos on my channel seem to be kitten ones, just after we got our 2 kitties! I loved making art from the stains left by drying teabags. I haven’t done enough teabag art, especially lately – and Zsuzsa’s ones are far in advance of anything I’ve ever done!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
    Shoshi x #20

Sorry I’m so late. Love the bird house. I agree with the elderly taking up a lot of time, wish though still had my mum to spend time with. Take care. Anne x 28
