Hi hi!
Happy Wednesday and happy What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday – our weekly trip around the desks of crafters near and far.
I’ve done pretty much zero crafting since last week’s desk shot, hence this week’s might be a little familiar. Last week was half term and Mr Pretty took the week off and boarded the eaves, which of course, meant that then the entire rest of the house managed to shift at least one piece of furniture in or out as a result. But we are getting there slowly. I am currently in the process of sorting and building 99 Lego sets (plus 12 advent calendars and 2 book sets) seeing which ones to sell, so that has taken up most of my time.
I am getting ready to have a crafty video call with a couple of lovelies and so I’m hoping to crack out most of the rolled flowers for my special project. You might get a hint as to what it is in the photo too. Of course if I try the flowers and for some reason they don’t work, (like the fact that I have the wrong sized glue sticks for my glue gun….) then I’ll be fussy cutting more butterflies from the wall paper roll instead! The pink notebook on the right has come out of retirement (made it nearly 10years ago) to be where I keep notes on the current crafty articles I’ve been commissioned to write.
And finally, here’s last week’s Throwback Thursday (which happened to actually be Froback Friday because we had a family screen free day… twitch…) It’s a cherished photo and layout about my recovery from post natal depression. I’m so glad that I document the hard stuff as well because it’s important to look back on all kinds of milestones, I think. Of course sometimes when I look back I cry “what the hell was I thinking??” too! I loved those Echo Park This & That collections.

Sometimes we just need to sit back and wait till creativity takes us to our happy space, knowing it’s ok to do so is just as important as getting there, just like documenting those hard times as well as the good, we learn from those darker days and they make the good ones shine much brighter. That’s a great LO, a treasure to look back on.

I love the soft tones of the bits and pieces in the first pic, ready to be made into something beautiful! That LO is fantastic and I echo the others in saying that you’re brave and wise to document the down items…I say to my boys that it’s how you deal with the cr*p in your life that makes you the person you are rather than the successes. That’s a lovely page, Lisa-Jane. Although you said you hadn’t done much this week, it all looks very productive to me. I love the pink and blue bits on your desk.
Thank you for your visit, which I’m glad you enjoyed. The kitties are going to be really camouflaged on that throw once it’s on my hubby’s chair – even more than they are on the plain charcoal grey of the furniture now! He will have to be careful not to sit on them.

A screen free day, well done! the thing that shocks me about them is the amount of email trash I routinely deal with through the day rather than in a big lump at one sitting! I hope you enjoyed the video call, and that your desk is covered in flowers and butterflies. Actually, that should be a standard greeting, it sounds so nice!

Loving your layout! I like the idea of a crafty call – I keep telling my knitting group we could easily do a Knit and Natter (although we generally call it Knit and Knackered most weeks!) but no one will cooperate. 🙁 Enjoy.

I’ve been catching up on very old photos from the late 70s onwards this week, lots of memories, some happy, some not so much, but as you say they’re all important and I guess that’s why we scrap them 🙂 Have a great weekend.
