What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday – 574

Welcome to another weekly snoop! Today sees a bit of dreary day here in Hampshire compared to all the sun we’ve had recently and I for one am a bit glad! We desperately need some rain in the UK and although I don’t think it will be much, it will save people having to water their gardens today at least.

You can just about see the end of our Victory Garden so far on the left just above the ipad stand. It has taken us 5 years to get that far down between all the health issues we’ve had in the family and other renovation projects etc but we’re getting there and we had our first harvest of lettuce last week.

The garden is one of my target areas for my One Little Word project which you can see on my desk. My word is “strong” and right now dear readers I do not feel in the slightest bit strong but we must try and keep on keeping on. The idea was to grow and obviously then eat, a lot of our own produce in working towards a strong mind and a strong body but all I want to eat is junk! You can just see in the album, the mood board we make as one of the OLW projects and I used a lot of healthy food and gardening images to create it. I’m also using the month Perspectives from Bramble Box so you can see how far behind I am! So far they have matched really well with the very old Simple Stories “I Am” collection that I’ve been using.

You can also see my traveller’s notebook with some Tesco orders sticking out to remind me to add up my Dad’s shopping bill – I know many of you have added shopping for your ‘rents to your routine and I salute you.

My desk that many of you commented on last week is actually just a standard white Ikea desk with a wood effect wipe clean table cloth over the top!

I also started this at the weekend. I do love stitching on my layouts but it obviously takes a while and as this will be for something exciting coming up soon I thought I’d better get started. I sat in the shade with a large glass of pretend gin, listening to the birds and ignoring everything else that needed doing. I recommend it!

If you’d like to join in with perusing around other crafty desks, head over to Julia to find out more.

Happy crafting!

Wipe clean cloth?? Well, it fooled me completely, I thought it was a wooden desk. I still love it! I laughed at your tale of the Victory garden, mine hasn’t been so great this year, maybe cos it’s been so dry. The runner beans are like Lazarus and staging a recovery from being dead! I like the stitching on card very much, it’s relaxing as well as being effective.

WOW. To have a desk in front of the garden window, must be so inspiring!! A lot of things is going on there. Marvellous!!

Thank you so much for sharing!

    Happy WOYWW

Hi Lisa-Jane. Yes, the gardens are going to really benefit from the rain we have had overnight and into this morning. Even the brown patches of my grass (really can’t dignify it as a lawn!) may have a resurrection status by tonight… That desk is so inviting – how I would love to fuddle around and look in and under those pages and books. Enjoy!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Hi Lisa Jane, I fully get your garden problems. Ours is not very wide, but around a hundred feet long, and to be honest at the moment we have barely half under control. Either we were both working full time, or then we had my health issues, and right now Dougs time is taken up with his IT tutoring, and his own Tutor training courses. If I’m realistic, much as I’d like to get to it sooner, I doubt the lower end will get touched before autumn, at best. But it’s not going anywhere, it’ll still be there when we do have the time.
I have IKEA tables too, love them. Really like that you can get standard legs, or adjustable ones for them, or even- as my workdesk is- on top of ALEX drawers! Stay safe,Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #12 X

What a pretty desk, the wood effect cloth is great. Yep it is certainly busier at home for me too with my hubby working from home and son who has been home since Mid-march finishing off his degree. Now is just when he’d have been home really. So loving the cooler weather today yum! Thanks for visiting earlier BJ#19

We’ve had a little rain here today but nowhere near enough. I’m actually looking forward to a couple of cooler days. Your desk looks great, love how you have your water brushes stood up! I hope you enjoyed your lettuce – it always tastes better when you grow it yourself! Good luck with those projects, Stay safe, stay well, Cindy #25

Do I spot another Gill Sims and Judgy Dog fan from your comment on my blog Lisa-Jane? There always seems to be eleventy billion things that get in the way of doing what you planned! I like the glimpse of your mood board. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

Now, I know that it’s a basketball thingy, but sitting just above the window sill like that without any apparent support, it looks as if you have your own satellite! Your desk looks calm and clean missus, I like the pen holder and the colour of the journal jacket. Am so impressed at you. I don’t join in with any of these OLW or other prompt journaling creatives, I am
Absolutely rubbish at keeping up with them at all, never mind just being a month behind. I pick a word and as soon as it gets difficult, I want to change it, and then I lose interest! Talk about honesty here! So, and here’s a question…do you really find the stitching a therapy? The very idea makes me think rude words and impatient thoughts! Gimme a cut file any day!!

Hello Lisa-jane and thank you for your visit and lovely comment. Your desk position is ideal I could just sit and daydream for long periods watching birds and butterflies flutter by and completely forget what I started doing. Your stitching looks so interesting and hope you post the progress. Have a great weekend.

What a great giant desk and such a lovely view! I wish we had a nice sunny spot for garden. I keep asking hubby if we can dig up the front lawn, but so far no go. If I were on my own I probably would! I love fresh lettuce from the garden. I can’t go to the store, so keeping away from junk food is rather easy. I wonder what that stitching project is? Thanks for your visit, have a great week, Linadrt #32

Lots of interesting things on your desk, Lisa-Jane, and also the desk itself with the lovely wood effect covering! It does look realistic. Our garden took a great growth spurt after the rain – really quite a difference! We don’t grow a lot of produce – we have a very productive apple tree, and some rhubarb, and a few autumn raspberries, and then of course there’s my lovely herb garden that my hubby made for me.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
