UK Scrap Addicts – Favourite Photo
Firstly, Happy New Year to you all! I know its been a long while and you may have seen from my social media that I’ve not been well. I’m crawling back though, aided by fabulous papers and some cutting and sticking.
Today I’m sharing my recent layout for the UK Scrap Addicts challenge which this month involves paper folding.

Obviously I had to create a cut file that folds rather than pops out and you can do this with any shape that either has symmetry or creates a new shape with symmetry, such as folding a swan to create two swans (which also gives you a heart shape where their necks meet!)

I went a bit star mad with this layout folding the stars in a star shape and using star patterned paper to back the smaller apertures. I backed the larger ones with a coordinating pattern from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s Boys Rule collection. I then added lots of wood veneer stars from my stash too.

I wanted to use something from my new Bramble Fox subscription so I chose the Favourite Photo Perspextive to use as my title and backed the photo onto some grey paper to coordinate.

Finally I sprinkled some Shimmerz Blue Lagoon around the star shape for added interest.
When I create folded cut files I add a perforated line down the centre to mine to make the folding easier, however this doesn’t work on Cricuts. They are still fairly easy to fold though and if you don’t push them down too much you can get good dimension on them, I use tiny glue dots to hold my shapes down but you can use silicon glue or even small brads to attach them.
I hope you’ll give paper folding a go and don’t forget to tag us and share on the UK Scrap Addicts Facebook page if you’ve been inspired.
