Terri Morris – Oh Deer – Poinsettia Nordic Background

Terri here, with a layout using an older Crate Paper collection which is still a favourite of mine. Who else loved ‘snow and cocoa’?

This layout features the Pre cut Paige Evans Poinsettia Nordic Background cut file and wow what an impact it makes. It is such a beautiful pattern, I had a hard time using it because I didn’t want to cover any of it up. I trimmed the cut file down by a quarter of an inch on each side so my background created a frame.   

I backed sections of the Nordic pattern with patterned paper and left the poinsettia sections without so the backing paper would show through. I added the cut file to the background 12×12 with foam squares to add dimension. I tied some silver bakers twine round the bottom third of the page along with a strip of patterned paper to create a kind of shelf for my photo, tags and embellishments to sit on.  

This is one of my go to designs, using tags overlapping each other and the photo to create an area of interest on the page. Once that was stuck down I added a few animal die cuts as the photo is of me at Vienna Zoo last December with a Reindeer in the background.
