Terri Morris – Are you okay pumpkin? – Pumpkin and Stem Cut file

Hope you’ve had a Spooktacular time this Halloween!

I’m here with something a little different today. I’ve used the Pumpkin and stem cut file (pre-cut available here) as a kind of template to paint a pumpkin shape on my art journal page. This page is inspired by one I saw on Kate Crane’s Instagram (The Kathryn Wheel).

The background was made with a gel plate, stencils and Dylusions paint (available in the clearance section). Once dry I drew round the pumpkin and then painted gesso over the top to add a layer of white on which I could paint on top of.

To paint the pumpkin I added a very light layer of Dina Wakley ‘Tangerine’ paint mixed with white. I added shading with neat ‘Tangerine’ paint. I also added in a few stripes of ‘Penny’ metallic paint. The stalk was done in the same way but using green acrylic paint.

I finished off the page by adding tone on tone stamping, scribbles and doodles using Dina Wakley scribble sticks and posca paint pens. The black marks were added using finger painting and the end of a paintbrush.

Thank you for joining me on the blog today, don’t forget to share any of your creations using cut files from Pretty My Page. Tag us on Instagram and Facebook as we love to see your work.

Happy Crafting!
