Sweet Tidings – Scrapbook Layout

Hi hi!

Well at least this one is from Christmas 2020… I went a bit rogue with this one, not using the same supplies as my Christmas journal. I think I said the other day that I thought I would run out before I finished the journal… and I didn’t… not by a long way. But I also chose these supplies because they fitted the Go Go mood board challenge in December.

Do you ever purchase a collection because it’s absolutely gorgeous and then when you go to use it, it’s virtually impossible? Yeah… I did that here. This is the Prima Peppermint collection where there are stickers and die cuts within the actual paper pad. The colours and designs are so pretty and I originally purchased it to decorate my Christmas planner with. However, the colours are so pastel (I know, SO not me!) and there is very little contrast which makes it really hard for me to create layers with any definition. But I tried.

I used a Scrap Squad scrap lift (Christmas 2020, Day 2) because it fitted well with the 2 photos that I had over from my Christmas Journal entry for this particular day. I used the red and the green denser pieces to layer between the more pastel pinks and creams and inked the edges with Vintage Photo.

How adorable is the Bramble Fox Russian doll?? I felt that it went really well with the vintage feel of the supplies and they do remind me of cooking, although I have no idea why. Maybe it’s that image of old Russian ladies making traditional dishes in headscarves in the kitchen, stirring love and hope, and maybe a little bit of magic, into their stews and puddings. I went with it anyway…

I’m one of the few people that still has a very full bottle of Heidi Swapp gold Color Shine because I’m always afraid to use it but I was brave and did a little sprinkle to my clusters here. Yay me!

Stay safe and keep smiling x
