Sarah Packer – Brrr

Sarah says:

I’m back on the blog today sharing a layout I created using the gorgeous Snowflake cut file by Paige Evans (available pre-cut in black, white or cream).

To start with I inked the snowflake with a pale blue ink to give it an icy feel and then heat embossed (I’m totally loving embossing again at the mo!) with an iridescent powder and then a sparkly silver powder to make it sparkle and stand out on the page.

I decided to use a patterned paper for the background, instead of my usual white, as I couldn’t see the snowflake enough and I really wanted it to be the main feature. I raised the cut file up on foam pads to give it more dimension.

Once I had stuck the snowflake to the background I embellished it with a few sequins in some of the holes for added bling! I mounted my photos on some leftover Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa scraps and fussy cut some trees and snowmen from leftovers of the same papers. I then mounted the wooden BRR on another scrap and cut around it, again because I wanted it to stand out on the page a bit more.

Once I had stuck my photos and placed the snowmen and trees, I then added some sparkly smaller snowflake stickers around the large snowflake and a couple of Bramble Fox snowflake perspectives to bring the page together.   I love the icy feel the embossing gives to the snowflake, a real winter wonderland!

With love and colour
