One Little Word – Heart

Hi Hi!

It’s been a long time hasn’t it?! But I’m hoping to get back to sharing more regularly, and sharing actual crafting results rather than just pictures of things I’ve been sorting (and still am…)

During one of my sorting sessions I came across my first One Little Word album, that pretty much stalled at January that year (2014!!). My word was “heart” and my plan was to use a 12×12 album in some way. I wanted my first page to say “this is what it’s all about – my family”.

This was as far as I got! I might have printed the prompts out and thought about how I was bringing heart into my life and I definitely had a folio of stash to use for it, but as a memory keeping / journaling project, it went no further. I did hold the word in my head but the plans I had fell quickly by the wayside and I couldn’t even tell you why. As a project, it doesn’t really suit 12×12 and the stash sat in the folio since then (I’m ashamed to say!) so I’ve rescued the layout to go in my normal albums. I can’t help thinking that this Simple Stories Daily Grind collection would be perfect for the current lockdown too…

For a few years after that I just chose a word and didn’t do the Ali Edwards class that goes along with it. Some years were more successful in terms of engaging with the word than others. Last year I decided to take the class again and it was actually the thing that provided enough clarity for me to be able to step back from my craft business and retire. I would never be “strong” unless I took time out to recover and the “strongest” thing I could do was to close down and concentrate on myself.

This year I am taking the class again and my word is “Action”. Getting back to blogging and sharing my layouts is one such “action”! I hope you’ll pop in and say hi 🙂

Bye for now!
