Niki Rowland – Guest Designer – Hello Year 4
Hey everyone, this is Niki Rowland (@nikiclaire) Guest Designing today for Pretty My Page, thanks so for much for having me Lisa-Jane!

I chose to use the ‘School Grid’ cut file which is available in the store (pre-cut here). Of course I didn’t quite use it as it was originally intended…I un-grouped and then cut the images separately. I cut three apples in three different sizes and three different patterned papers. I also cut two pencils, again in different sizes and out of different papers. I backed the pencils with pink cardstock.

I mounted one apple onto pink cardstock and stitched around the edge. I then trimmed off the pink to leave a small pink border around it. I did this because the paper I had cut it from had large white circles on it and I felt it needed a border around it to make it stand out. I used a dark grey thread for this outline.

I arranged my three apples and two pencils onto a piece of white cardstock together with my photo. I added in a number of journaling cards and lots of embellishments including lots of flowers. I added a patterned paper behind my white cardstock background so that a wide strip showed at the top and the layout and an even wider strip showed at the bottom.

I added my multi font title to the smallest apple and then finished off with sequins and my journalling.
Thanks again for having me Lisa, I love how my layout turned out using your fabulous ‘School Grid’ cut file. I have created a process video for those who would like to see how my layout came together that you can view here.

Happy scrapping
Niki xx
