Niki Rowland – Guest Designer – 31 – Sugar Skull

Hi everyone, this is Niki Rowland and I’m delighted to be back guest designing for Pretty My Page again. You can find the process video for this spooky page here.

I had the awesome Sugar Skull cut file to work with (pre-cut version here). I cut it from silver cardstock and I also cut a solid piece to back it with. I cut this from black and white patterned paper. I stuck the silver skull outline and detail onto the black background.

I added splatters to my black cardstock background with silver paint. I then added my photo with lots of distressed and torn paper layers. I also fussy cut some spooky moths from patterned paper and positioned them around my layout.

I added skull Perspextives and a few embellishments. I attempted to just stick to a black, silver and white colour scheme. I added some brads and some silver sequins. I also added torn patterned paper strips to each side of my layout.

I love making spooky Halloween layouts, they are totally different to my usual style and I really enjoy doing something a little bit different and pushing myself out of my comfort zone a bit.

Thanks so much for having me Lisa-Jane

Happy scrapping everyone
