Mermaids Can’t Wear Pyjamas
You can tell I went away scrapping for the weekend because I’ve got more than on layout to share in one month!
I said in my last post that I really struggled to scrap on our last retreat (at the beginning of November). I knew I was out of practise so I made sure before I went that I planned some pages and took lots of inspiration from Pinterest, including a layout by the lovely Anna Urhas that I scraplifted here.
Scrap lifting is a fabulous way to get yourself going when you are struggling with your creative mojo or if you’ve had a break from scrapping etc but I still struggled even with the help of a layout to copy! Scrap lifts always end up looking slightly different from the original and as long as you credit the original designer, it’s absolutely fine to use their inspiration.
One of the challenges on our weekend away was to be inspired by a film or book so I chose this photo of my Little Mermaid pyjamas that I bought to go into hospital with in June when it was scorching hot (remember that?!) I started out needing a new robe because I only had a jacket type one that didn’t cover my backside but while I was purchasing that I ended up with new short japarmas (as we call them in this house) and matching slippers! Whoops!
The photo went perfectly with the Dream Big collection from Simple Stories which I absolutely adore, so you can expect to see some more layouts with that range very soon! The letter stickers are pretty old ones from my stash and you know it always makes me happy to use up older supplies with my new. And of course I had to add some enamel dots from the shop (lots of colours are now in the Clearance section).
Thanks for the inspiration Anna!
With love and colour x
