Lisa-Jane – Anniversary Card

It was our 20th wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago and I’d some how not purchased a card in time.  So I turned to my trusty Silhouette to help me out.

I used the “Diagonal Heart Mesh” cut file and resized it so that it would fit easily within a 6×6 card blank.  I made a square, then made an internal off-set square of 1/2 inch and made it a compound path.  Then I highlighted the hearts and the square and clicked weld.  This gives you a continuous design.

I wanted to back the design with something in teal to match our lounge decor and the banner I had made.  I cut the resized heart design again but this time taking out the centres of the hearts.  This gave me the perfect sized back piece to layer behind the cut file.

There was a splash of silver in the hand made teal paper so I used some silver letters to add the finishing touches and layered it all onto a woodgrain background so it wasn’t too girly for my husband.

You might purchase your cut files with a scrapbook page in mind but you can get so much more out of them when you think outside the box a bit.  We’d love to see how you’ve got more out of your designs, or indeed any of your wonderful projects using our cut files so please do share and tag us or use the hash tag #prettymypage

With love and colour
