Laura Rumble – Wembley & Summer Football Camp
Laura here today scrapping some football photos. I sometimes get a little exasperated with the craft industry – so much pink and pretty that just doesn’t work with the photos I want to scrap. I have loads of football photos and matching them with blossoms and love hearts just doesn’t work. I’ve taken matters in to my own hands and designed some papers in colours I like. You can see the process video here.

I’ve chosen a couple of Pretty My Page cut files that pass as football themed if you look at them a little differently. First up is the Hexagon Block Paving cut file. It’s not paving… it’s the goal netting! I’ve used my papers along with various alphas.

I had to do a little altering as I didn’t have the exact shade of orange/red alphas to match the training cones. Easily fixed with a few thin coats of red ink pounced over orange alphas. I created a little cluster of fussy cut elements and added in sections of a green border sticker to tie in the grass in the photos.
For the second layout I used Hexagon Large background cut file. Doesn’t that remind you of the old style of football?

With the geometric shapes sewn together to make a sphere – you know what I mean! I kept this one a little simpler in colour opting only to use the black and white papers. I added a touch of colour with blue ink splatters and thread nest (blue and white are the team colours) and a flash of red in the form of foam and a label sticker.

The photo has been converted to black and white but only by 80%. This leaves the red on the names and numbers on the back of the football kits showing as red and I think the pops of red tie it all together nicely. I tried to embellish more with stickers but it felt done without them.
