Laura Rumble – The Bowling Brothers

Hi there, Laura here today with a 12×12 layout using the Star Border Cut File.

I’ve cut the file on white and kept the cut out stars as well as the 12×12.  I’ve backed the star openings with papers from Sticker Kitten’s Dinosaur collection. I’ll let you into a secret – the backs of my layouts are never neat when I’ve backed a cut file.  They go back to back in albums so no one will ever know.  The first few backing pieces are cut out fairly accurately but as the spaces get filled up I don’t worry about cutting the right shapes… a square/rectangle/chunk of paper is fine.

I added my photos to the bottom right and grounded them with a row of the white stars.

Embellishing was kept simple adding a few stickers that matched the papers and a sprinkling of enamel star stickers.  I added the date, initials and a title using alphabet tiles – the smaller ones are Jillibean Soup and the larger ones are Pretty Little Studio.  I left an awkward gap between the middle photo and the title.  I had planned to step the title along with the photos but it was reading as “the bow  ling bro  thers” instead of “the bowling brothers”.  I moved the alphas up so the title read properly and plugged the awkward gap with a couple of snippets of patterned paper.
