Laura Rumble – LJ & JJ

Hey crafters, Laura here, kicking off the October inspiration.

I have a super simple layout to share today. Basically, the cut file is everything the layout needs… it’s a ‘just add photos’ layout. The cut file is the Floral Square Grid cut at 12×12.

I printed off some photos to fit in the grid. I didn’t have eight photos – my nephew moves too quickly! – so I chose the best two and printed them multiple times, half in colour and half in black and white.

I used Distress Oxide inks from the shop to add a little colour behind the floral areas. Once I’d blended Squeezed Lemonade with Wild Honey and Blueprint Sketch with Broken China I added plenty of spritzes and splatters of water. I think this is where the Oxides are at their best!

I added the photos and popped up the die cut on foam. At this point I was going to start embellishing the layout but I really couldn’t bear to cover anything up. I added a label with the date and called it done. You can watch the process video here.
