Laura Rumble – Happy Birthday

Hey, Laura here today with a 12×12 layout using the Happy Birthday cut file by Paige Evans. You can purchase this pre-cut on white, cream or black cardstock. You can also have it cut to your size specification – just drop Lisa-Jane a message to discuss it.

I have backed my file with a fun green spot paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s Boy’s Rule collection. I’ve popped the file up on foam pads and I’m going for a diagonal design.

The rest of the supplies are Bella Blvd but I’m unsure of the collection. I have used three photos from my nephew’s 2nd birthday; two at the top of the layout and one at the base. I’m using larger chipboard embellishments at the bottom with the single photo and less smaller pieces up the top. This helps balance the page out ending up with 4 items at the top and 4 at the bottom.

I searched my mist colours for the best matches with the chipboard. I came up with three Shimmerz mists. I added plenty of slightly diluted splatters in aqua, blue and yellow. I always avoid red splatters as it can look a bit bloody. I bring the red in with enamel stars. I then finish up the layout with a generous sprinkling of enamel dots in green, aqua and yellow.
