Laura Rumble – 3 layouts from 1 cut file!

Laura says:

I’ve gone all out for this file.  I know there will be some of you thinking “I can’t justify £2.75 for a bit of cut card to make a layout.”  Well, how about if that bit of cut cards can make three layouts?  Yep, I’ve used the Paige Evans Christmas Icons pre-cut file to make three layouts…

I started off painting all the little bits.  I’ve used Shimmerz paints but any of your mixed media products will work.  There are loads to choose from here.  I ran a few through my sewing machine to make a string of bunting.

I had planned to make them ALL into bunting but you know what sewing machines are like…  sometimes they just don’t have the same idea as the sewist!  So I moved on to my background whilst pondering my next move.  I added some white paste through the Winter Borders stencil.  It’s white on white so it hasn’t photographed well but it adds a lot when you see it ‘in the flesh’.  I added colour to two kebab sticks and used them to hold up my bunting.

The photo I scrapped is of a little one in a ball pool.  I decided to fill the area between the sticks with the coloured shapes echoing the balls in the photo.  I added a title with some alphas and called it done.

On to number two.

This one uses the main cut file as a stencil.  Using a sheet of red glitter card as my background I added silver embossing paste through the cut file.

I won’t add much about the layout as the post will go on forever but you can watch the video here – https://youtu.be/wgBu8K0GwZg  I kept it pretty simple… you can when you have a detailed cut file and this much glitter on show!!

Number three uses the back of the cut file that I had previously used as a stencil.

The paste had bled a little and left each shape with a silver edge – a very happy accident as it looks rather fab!  I backed each shape with coloured papers from Jillibean Soup and embellished with a few charms.  You can watch the process for this layout here – https://youtu.be/WDVJsdcyloQ

With love and lots and lots of colour!
