Karen Moss – Guest Designer – I am Me – Anemone Cut File
Hello, Karen here and I am thrilled to have been asked to be guest designer for Pretty My Page this month.
I use my Silhouette and cut files for almost every craft project I make and I use the sketch function all the time, whether Silhouette Sketch Pens or ordinary pens in the pen holder – it really is my thing.
So, this month, I will mainly be focussing on using pens and hopefully show you an alternative way to use Lisa-Jane’s amazing files.

For my first project I have used Anemone by Laura Rumble. I wanted to keep the wreath attached to the surrounding black card, so un-grouped the design, reduced it in size and placed it towards the top left of my design space. I then used a white sketch pen for the outline and cut the remainder of the shape, which left me with an aperture in the centre of the design.

The anemones were backed with tissue paper to give the delicate look of real anemones and the black card was added to a piece of white to which I had added journaling (again with a sketch pen using a sketch font), lining it up with the aperture on the black card.
I finished my page by adding a photo and some print and cut watercolour elements, in similar colours to my anemones, as I wanted to retain the soft, ethereal feel of the page.

This was a quick and fairly simple page to construct but I think you will agree that using black card and backing with tissue paper creates a stunning effect.
