Jane Gwynn – Lest We Forget

On this very special Armistice Day, we have Jane sharing a very special layout.

She says:

I started here with 12 x 12 white cardstock and used the packaging technique to add some grey to it along with some splatters of of grey and black.  I used the pre-cut cut Paige Evans ‘Poppies’ cut-file on black, and backed the leaves with plain green card.

Next I used a combination of red brusho activated with Post Box Red Dylusions spray to create depth and movement for the flowers on another piece of white! Then layered the black over to create the overall poppies.

I gently drew round the file on the background and then stippled red acrylic paint as an added layer behind the poppies. Then I stamped some more poppies onto the background in black Stayzon.  Photo of my great Grandad who served in WW1 is matted on a vintage dictionary page, a cigarette card, a glassine bag and a luggage tag.

Last I added a title – Lest We Forget.  I purposely chose to not use a paper collection or embellishments in this layout, therefore the layout won’t be quickly outdated and will be just as relevant in another 100 years xx
