Every Day I’m Sparklin’
Today is my day to share my UK Scrap Addicts layout and the theme this month is Sparkle! I created a free cut file that you can find over on the UKSA blog and I chose to create my first ever shaker pocket with it!

I knew I wanted to created a border type of effect with it so I placed all my papers first. Then I set about creating the shaker pocket which was a bit trickier than I imagined, especially as it has so many edges.

Firstly I cut some clear acetate from some packaging to fit the back of the stars in a continuous piece. Then I lined the edge of the cut file with some 3d foam tape. This was quite tricky! I filled each star aperture with some sequins and then put the “lid” on using some off cuts of unicorn paper. It doesn’t really matter what’s on this paper as you don’t see much of it, it’s more about the colours.

I did have to jiggle things around a bit as some of the sequins escaped and I realised how many holes I had made! I was really happy with it though and I finished off the layout with some more sequins, some puffy stickers from the same Dream Big range and some flat stickers too.
I can really see me doing another shaker pocket very soon and I’m glad I tried it but I think I’ll do a simpler shape next time!
With love and colour
