Emilie Chamel – Details – Bouquet of Pansies and Ring of Hearts Cut File

Hi everybody! I am very excited to share with you today my first layout as a guest Designer for the month of March for Pretty My Page and I even have a process video available for you on my YouTube Channel.

My first task was to chose which cut-files I wanted to work with and it must have been the toughest part! How do you choose from so many gorgeous exclusive designs???

But chose I must and chose I did and I started with the stunning Ring Of Hearts as I knew it would allow me to create a lot of texture on my page. I simply covered half of it with modelling paste through a stencil. Let it dry and then added colour using some water-colour powders. I then chose the Bouquet Of Pansies cut-files as there are never too much flowers on a layout, right?! I backed them with Velum as I find it gives it almost a “lace” effect and I love the look of it.

I glued the Ring of Heart cut-file straight onto my background slightly off centre to create interest and using one of the cut-out heart I traced several hearts onto a mix of patterned papers that I later mounted onto foam pads before placing them back into some of the holes of the cut-file.

I finished-off by adding my photograph and some embellishments around my page for that finishing touch but most of the work is being done by the cut file! What a great way to create a layout without using up all of your stash!!!

I hope you found some inspiration here on using your cut-files and don’t hesitate to have a look at the process video for more detail on how my layout came together!
