Claire Murphy – If Friends Were Flowers
18 October 2018//
Claire:
I just love floral cut files. I love to cut these out using patterned paper, or cutting them on white cardstock and back filling them with pretty paper. But, they can also look beautiful as tone on tone in white.

For this layout I used the Bouquet of Pansies cut file. I sized it so I could cut 8 on a 12×12 piece of cardstock. I only used 5 of these on the this layout.
I backed my white cardstock with a patterned paper from the PE Oh My Heart Collection. This gave my layout a border to contain it all and is one of my favourite techniques to use.

Next I fussy cut out a whole load of flowers from another PE patterned paper and integrated these flowers and the cut file pieces into a circular wreath. I overlapped the flowers and cut files so they were intertwined with each other. Some of the flowers I gave some dimension by popping them up on foam dots.
I added in a small photo to compliment the wreath as anything bigger would have been too distracting from the whole design. I then added in some puffy heart stickers, a couple of tiny word stickers and some ink splatters.

I added my title by applying my Thickers to a scrap piece of patterned paper (from the same collection) and then adhered this onto the layout. This is a great technique to use if you have run out of room on your layout for a title but still want to include one. You can apply this technique with journalling too.
