Ashley Hamman – Guest Designer – Beach Holiday Words Cut File

Hello again!

Today I’m sharing my second page for my guest designer position this month. This time I made a vacation page I made using the beach holiday words cut file from Pretty My Page.

I explain my whole process in my video HERE, but basically I wanted to re-create the blues from my photo with distress inks on my cut file. For the cut file, I duplicated some of the words, resized them, and cut them out on white cardstock. I left the cut file on the Silhouette mat to do my mixed media with distress inks.

I started with darker blues, like chipped sapphire and faded jeans, to mimic the sky, and worked down to the turquoise colors, like broken china. I used my heat gun to speed the drying process and then removed all the words from my mat.I arranged the words on my white cardstock background in the same order – dark to light – and adhered them using small Glue Dots.

I embellished with lots of stickers from Maggie Holmes’ Sunny Days collection. They matched perfectly with this cut file and my page! You can see more on my blog: https://marklandandmain.blogspot.com/

Thank you!
