Laura Rumble – “S”
Hello! Laura back with another starry layout, this time using the “star Stripe” cut file (pre-cut available here)

I’m a big fan of stars in scrapbooking as I have a lot of boys in my life. Sometimes their photos just don’t work with pretty florals and I think of the boys cringing when they are in their teens and looking through their albums! Stars – well, you can’t go wrong with stars!
I went a little crazy with the sequins… I finished 8 bags and one pot on this layout. I’m ashamed to say this doesn’t even make a dent in my sequin stash!

I’ve glued a sheet of acetate behind the Star Stripe die cut and then carefully added thin strips of foam adhesive behind the star outlines. I lined some of the bigger stars as separate shakers and roughly split the background into three with the aim of having an ombre effect to the sequins. I’m not sure if I pulled off the ombre effect but I do love how it looks.

With the shaker pocket done the layout didn’t need an awful lot more. I added a black and white photo embellished with an alpha sticker and wrote around the edge of the stars in inks that matched the sequins. One tip for you… if you are adding a foam shaker pocket and then adding more foam behind the photo the layout is going to be 4mm thick. This means it may not sit nicely in the wallet in your album. I trim a couple of millimetres off one edge and that lets it lie perfectly in the wallet.

All that is left to do is add the date and pop it in my album. Thanks for looking!
